Pamela Wiseman: NM Coalition Against DV Representative
Pamela
Wiseman is the Executive Director of the New Mexico Coalition Against
Domestic Violence, a policy and advocacy group serving member programs
across the state. Wiseman formerly served as the Executive Director of a
comprehensive, multi-program domestic violence agency in northern
Illinois, a position she held for over 20 years. She also served on the
statewide committee that developed Illinois’ first standards for
batterer’s intervention programs. Wiseman conceptualized the Illinois
Coalition Against Domestic Violence position on court accountability and
authored the paper on that topic which is in wide use across Illinois.
Wiseman is also known for her work in developing innovative, domestic
violence court watch programs. The author of a bestselling book on
domestic violence, Wiseman has been featured in national women’s
magazines and has appeared on national and regional television and
radio. She received Bachelors and Masters degrees from the University of
Michigan and Northern Illinois University, respectively.
