Joanne Fine: Community Representative
Joanne
Fine has spent 37 years in human service. Currently she serves as the
Chief Communications Officer for United Way of Central New Mexico, a
position she has held since January 1996. During her tenure at UWCNM she
has been responsible for all of the organization’s marketing,
advertising and public relations efforts. The organization tripled its
fundraising results during that time and has been awarded over 100
state, regional and national communication awards.
These awards include Best in Show from the New Mexico Advertising Federation, the Cumbre and El Conquistador Awards from the New Mexico Chapter of the Public Relations Society of America, a regional Telly award, and a regional Emmy award. The UWCNM website was recognized by United Way of America as the best United Way website in the country.
Ms. Fine has personally been awarded Marketer of the Year by the NM Chapter of the American Marketing Association. From November 2006 to November 2007 she was on loan from UWCNM to the City of Albuquerque to help open the Albuquerque Family Advocacy Center. In that endeavor, she served as Project Director.
